Welcome to my blog “Little Thing Called Life”.  Over the last two years, my life has changed drastically and I am here to share the good, the bad and the ugly of daily living with 10+ chronic illnesses.  Take a look around (there’s more info on me and my illnesses in the about section) and feel free to let me know if there is anything specific you would like me to write about.   Happy Blogging!

Panel 1

So, here is where you get to learn more about me, my family and my little thing called life!  My name is Lyndsay and I am 29 years old, living the chronically ill life in Canada.  I am in a wonderful relationship with an extremely supportive man, I am a bonus Mom to an energetic, brown eyed little guy (well not so little, he’s already 10 years old!), I am also a dog Mom to the sweetest, cutest Shih-Poo that has ever lived (don’t worry I’m sure you will be seeing/hearing lots about Opie!), and I am also an ER Nurse who loves playing hockey!

I currently suffer from multiple different autoimmune diseases and syndromes.  When I was 7 years old, I was diagnosed with psoriasis and when I was 23 years old, I was diagnosed with celiac disease.  I have managed to somewhat control my psoriasis with different topical treatments and the only treatment for celiac Disease is a strict, 100% gluten free diet, easy peasy right?! For quite a few years it was, everything was good and life continued on, that is until the last couple of years.

As of this moment, I have been diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), neuro-immune dysregulation syndrome (NIDS), chronic gastritis, gastroparesis, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), ehlers danlos syndrome (EDS), and psoriatic arthritis (PsA).   So what are all of these? That’s what I will tell you about through my blog! I will discuss each one in more detail and hopefully at the same time provide education and awareness because there is never enough awareness.  I will also add in posts here and there that don’t necessarily revolve around illness.

Thank you for being here and I hope that you enjoy what I share.  I will do my best to post once a week or more if there are some big changes happening.  Also, if you want to send topic ideas, questions, comments or anything else, please do! Just keep in mind that I am not well so sometimes I might be a little delayed in posting and/or responding to any private messages but just know that I will and I value any and all feedback.  This is my first time writing a blog and I’m really looking forward to learning along the way and hopefully connecting with my amazing readers!

Wishing You All Health & Happiness,
